Matthew Stafford is in his 15th season in the NFL and he’s been the captain of his team for most of them. To say he’s a great leader would be an understatement, something all of his teammates in the Rams locker room would agree with.
In Sunday’s win over the Commanders, Stafford showed his leadership style as he was mic’d up by the team. The veteran quarterback always has his teammates on the same page snap in and snap out, rallying them in the huddle and on the sideline.
After his 62-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp, Stafford admitted he almost missed the receiver by overthrowing him, but Kupp was able to run under it and haul it in for six points.
“I almost missed you!” Stafford yelled to Kupp after the touchdown. “I didn’t have great vision on the corner that was on his back so I was like, ‘I must be missing something.’”
Stafford also gave Kupp a hard time for not sprinting into the end zone.
“You were joggin’! Let’s go! I needed more effort out of you,” Stafford joked.
