Former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey could start the 2024 NFL regular season as the Los Angeles Chargers’ No. 1 wide receiver. McConkey, who was a second round pick in the 2024 NFL draft, is turning heads in training camp.
McConkey’s combination of speed and route running is expected to be immediately on display in Los Angeles. The Chargers lost their top two receivers from last season (Keenan Allen and Mike Williams), but return starting quarterback Justin Herbert.
McConkey recently hauled in a long touchdown catch in the back of the end zone in training camp. Here’s a look at McConkey’s impressive catch.

Ladd McConkey shows excellent body control in this highlight. He will be very fun to watch as a rookie this season. The Chargers’ first preseason game is on Aug. 10.
