Johnny Mundt followed head coach Kevin O’Connell to the Minnesota Vikings last season to show off his abilities.
In his sixth season, Mundt showed that he is a rotational tight end that will give you good depth as another pass-catching option up the seams.
That doesn’t mean he can’t make some great plays when given the opportunity.

On this play, Mundt gives a nice out-and-up route to attack the void in the defense up the seams. Safety Camryn Bynum reacted too late, and Mundt got to show off his athleticism. Mundt had to extend his hands significantly to pull this one in for a touchdown.
Going into year seven, the red zone will be a place where Mundt may find some success this season. As the field shortens and the bigger bodies flood the running lanes, adding someone like Mundt to a red-zone situation can give you an athletic advantage.
And in the red zone, every advantage you can get is magnified.
