Zelenskyy's unconventional path to politics began when, aged 17, he entered a TV talent show - and by 2003 he was featuring in TV comedy with Kvartal 95.
He went onto star In Kvartal 95's 2015 political satire series Servant of the People - about a teacher who accidentally becomes president, after his anti-corruption rant goes viral on social media.
Life imitated art when he became President for real in 2019 - and in recent days his 'selfie' videos have inspired Ukraine's resistance to the Russian invasion.
But, as the video in this tweet below shows, President Zelensky is a natural in front of the camera - and on the dance floor.
