All-Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum had himself a historic game against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon, tying Celtics Hall of Famer Larry Bird for the Celtics record of total career 50-point games in Boston’s 126 – 120 win over the Nets at TD Garden.
The St. Louis native scored 54 points in total, along with 5 rebounds, and 3 assists while shooting a sizzling 16-of-30 from the field, 8-of-15 from beyond the arc, and a rock-solid 14-of-17 from the charity stripe to secure what was perhaps the most important victory of the Celtics 2021-22 campaign to date.
It was the second-highest point total of Tatum’s career to date, and the third-most ever scored by a Celtic in the seven-decade history of the franchise.
