THE Tartan Army has paid tribute to Alex Salmond ahead of Scotland playing Portugal.
We previously told how Scotland fans had organised a one-minute applause before kick-off at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening.
Thousands of supporters could be seen clapping alongside players from both Scotland and Portugal, including Cristiano Ronaldo.
Salmond died suddenly in North Macedonia on Saturday after suffering a heart attack.
On Tuesday, officials confirmed his body was ready to be returned to Scotland.
The former first minister was known as a keen member of the Tartan Army himself, and joined other Scotland fans in Germany for the Euro 2024 competition over the summer.
