Adam Lambert is totally unrecognisable in his latest music video after undergoing a makeover to make him look like an old man.
The singer, 41, stunned fans by his appearance after releasing the clip for new single Getting Older, which is a cover of a Billie Eilish song which she originally released in 2021.
While she originally envisioned it about a young musician dealing with newfound superstar status and becoming disillusioned with their art in the face of “deranged” fans, Lambert had a more literal take on it,
“A glam grandpa!!! Love this!” wrote one fan on Twitter.
“D***, you’re going to look good even when older fgs! Great make-up work, hats off to whoever did that,” said a second.
While a third person cheekily put in: “I’m a grandma and wouldn’t mind hooking up with an old Adam! Very attractive older man. Great video and I can relate.”
Speaking about the jaw-dropping transformation to People magazine, Lambert said: “I’ve always wanted to do a complete transformation with makeup.
“Although it took nearly four hours, the end result was so life-like, it was worth it!”
Getting Older is taken from Lambert’s new covers album, High Drama, which is out now.
The record marks the Indiana native’s fifth solo album since he finished in second place on American Idol in 2009.
He has also toured extensively with rock band Queen, as a stand-in for late singer Freddie Mercury, and sung on their live compilation album Live Around the World which was released in 2020.
