An author who was left in a "dark hole" after being diagnosed with a crippling autoimmune disease

Karen Quinn, 42, was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus which causes the immune system to attack its own tissues.

The Washington resident was left fearing for her life in 2018 after being rushed to hospital suffering a mini stroke.
