Sheriff Debunks Viral TikTok Claims of a Grisly Discovery
TikTok content creators aaayyyllll2 and news.crime.tv2 claimed that the search for Savannah Guthrie's mother had concluded after Nancy's body was allegedly found floating in a pond near the Catalina Foothills on Saturday. Both posts shared footage of a floating body being retrieved by authorities and alleged that it had been identified as Nancy Guthrie.
The department moved quickly to correct the claims. 'That video is not accurate,' a spokesperson said. 'It was not taken in our jurisdiction, and the officers shown are not Pima County deputies.'
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos also confirmed on Friday that the investigation into Nancy's disappearance is 'still growing.' The FBI has also joined the Arizona police in the search for Nancy, who has now been missing for nearly a month.
