Hayden Panettiere, 36, was found unresponsive on 16 August 2026 at a Greenville, South Carolina, residence where she was temporarily staying with Brian Hickerson, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office. First responders located her in cardiac arrest and pronounced her dead at 2:32 p.m.

An autopsy found no signs of trauma that contributed to her death, but the coroner said the cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and additional studies, including toxicology.
