More than 670,000 French taxpayers are being notified that their personal and tax information has been stolen in cyber attacks on the French tax office and allegedly sold online.

The Directorate-General for Public Finance (DGFiP) began sending individual warning emails on Monday evening, following an emergency interministerial meeting called by Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu. The messages will be sent throughout the week.
