Sonam Wangchuk, along with others, began their fast close to the gate of the Ladakh Bhawan. They also raised slogans such as 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', 'Jai Ladakh' and 'Save Himalaya'.

Wangchuk said he wanted to meet the top leaders to discuss the demands of the Ladakh people.

He added that despite previous assurances, no meeting dates were given, prompting him to resume his hunger strike.
