Walmart Makes Ozempic and Mounjaro Free for Workers with Type 2 Diabetes in 2027, Excluding Weight Loss Use

Starting in 2027, Walmart employees with Type 2 diabetes will be able to get Novo Nordisk's Ozempic and Eli Lilly's Mounjaro at no cost once they receive prior approval. The change is part of a broader benefits update that puts more than 250 prescription drugs on a no-cost list, Bloomberg reported on Oct. 13.

Chief People Officer Donna Morris announced the changes in a letter to about 1.6 million U.S. associates. "We're adding even more ways to help you and your family live better," Morris wrote, according to Reuters.
