Spring is in the air, and as the weather warms up, it's time to pull on your walking boots and discover some of Nottinghamshire's glorious countryside - even with a couple or more pubs along the way. Just 30-minutes of brisk walking on a daily basis can benefit your health and quality of life.
However, if you still need an incentive to get out walking, we've taken a look at some of the pub walks in Nottinghamshire on the website Trails with Ales. Creators Rob Leam, Pete Hayden, Geoff Gration - were tired of the typical country pub walk – a drive to some distant pub for a circular walk ending in just the one drink before driving back home.
So they decided to abandon the car and explore the countryside, the history, and the pubs around them in the old coalfields of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Here we take a look at some of the walks they highlight - including one with EIGHT pubs - but you don't have to drink in them all and many serve lunch and snacks.
