Wales' first satellite ready for UK space launch

Space Forge Wales Virgin Orbit United Kingdom Spaceport Cornwall Earth

Wales' first satellite is now ready for the first orbital launch from UK soil next month. ForgeStar-0 is the first satellite designed and built in Wales which was created by Cardiff startup Space Forge.

It will launch this November with Virgin Orbit from Spaceport Cornwall, and will test the process of using the unique microgravity environment of space to manufacture special materials that are much more difficult to make on Earth.

Space Forge says it has now successfully integrated Wales’ first satellite into Virgin Orbit's launch system ready for the first orbital launch.
