Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq vehemently denied the accusations of showing favoritism towards specific Pakistan players and pressuring fellow selectors to follow their lead during the T20 World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board terminated the services of both former Test cricketers as selectors on Wednesday.
The removal of Wahab from his position came as an unexpected move, considering his close association with the current PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi. Wahab had previously served as a sports advisor with extensive authority in the caretaker government of Punjab, led by Naqvi, until the conclusion of the elections earlier this year.
