KOCHI: The Kerala high court on Monday said the construction of the Vizhinjam International Seaport cannot be halted for any reason and that any complaints regarding the project should be raised before appropriate forums.
Considering a petition (WP-C No. 27571/2022) filed by Adani Vizhinjam Port Pvt Ltd (AVPL) seeking police protection, justice Anu Sivaraman said the protestors cannot be allowed to halt the project by bargaining with the state government. There is no bar in conducting the protest peacefully and any complaints against the project should be raised before the appropriate forums. But the protestors cannot stop the construction by creating a law and order issue, the court said.
