Vistara A320 suffers engine snag after landing safely at Delhi Airport

NEW DELHI: A Vistara Airbus A320 had to be towed to the terminal after landing safely at Delhi Airport from Bangkok on Tuesday. The aircraft (VT-TNJ) was operating as UK-122.

“The flight was uneventful and landed on runway 10 at IGI Airport. Post runway vacation, engine number 1 was shut down for single engine taxi. During single engine taxi at the end of taxiway K, engine number 1 failed. Air traffic control was informed and a tow truck was requested,” said a senior official.

Subsequently, the aircraft was towed to the parking bay.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is probing this engine issue.

A Vistara spokesperson said: “After landing in Delhi, while taxing to the parking bay, our flight UK122 (BKK-DEL) had a minor electrical malfunction on July 5, 2022. Keeping passenger safety and comfort in mind the crew elected to tow the aircraft to the bay.”
