Comedian Martin Beanz Warde said the the words ‘knacker’ and ‘knackered’ have two very different meanings after host Muireann O’Connell apologised for using the latter during an interview with him.
The stand-up comic and writer from the Irish travelling community was on Virgin Media’s Ireland AM with presenters Muireann and Alan Hughes on Tuesday morning to discuss his latest photo exhibition.
He was left in fits of laughter moments into the chat, when Muireann said she was 'knackered' after reading out his list of work and achievements to date.

But after the host was left visibly embarrassed and apologised to him on air, the funnyman, who uses his platform to educate the public on stigmas facing travelling today, took to social media to clear up the situation.
Responding to a story documenting the encounter online, he said: “The presenter used a word commonly used to express being tired.
"The word Knacker and Knackered have two very different meanings.
“The presenter was immediately mortified and apologised.
“I just laughed my arse off,” he added.
Muirean welcomed the popular comic to the show earlier that morning, saying: “Martin, it is lovely to have you here.
“Sometimes when I kind of hear you on the radio or see you on the telly, and I see you doing all these things and I get knackered. Because you are doing so much, like I'm so tired…”
Both Martin and Muireann’s co-host Alan Hughes immediately interjected with laughter, with Martin joking saying: “Ten seconds we’ve been on, this is a record for Ireland AM I have to say, I was expecting it from Alan, not from you.”
After realising what she said, Muireann was left visibly embarrassed and explained: “Oh god, I meant tired, I just realised…”
“I didn’t think, I have to say. I meant tired, oh god. Like you just keep adding other things."
After finishing the interview where they showcased Martin's new photography exhibition, “Through Our Eyes”, Muireann apologised to the star again, adding: “I’m so sorry about mis-speaking earlier on for a word that I always use for tired, I'm very sorry about that Martin.”
