However, as per the Star, they may be loved too much by some, as they are commonly stolen from the flights and Virgin Atlantic has issued a warning to customers.

Since their introduction, the little shakers have become somewhat of a collector's item, with some of the sets spotted on eBay for £25 each. But the airline have included a little surprise in the design on their little shakers.

The hidden detail exposes those with sticky fingers as Virgin Atlantic shared a photo of the the set on Twitter with the caption: “Caught red handed? If you’ve walked away from one of our flights with a 'new' salt and pepper shaker, take a peek at their feet and you’ll be in for a surprise.”

It seems that if you turn the salt and pepper shakers over you’ll see a hidden inscription on the base. The words read: “Pinched from Virgin Atlantic”.

Meaning anyone who pockets a pair will have to cope with their friends and family knowing their crime!

Hundreds of fans liked the post with many saying they had nabbed their own set when flying with the airline and they weren't put off my the revelation.

One person admitted: “I will be walking away with these next week.”

While another commented: “I might or might not have black, silver and gold! Looking forward to ‘borrowing’ some more in under five weeks!

"I have some. Best part is the ‘pinched from’, a third added.

A keen collector said: “I’m still missing the ones from upper class if someone wants to pinch me some!”
