Multicoloured lights filmed over Tehran have fuelled UFO speculation online, while the footage has also prompted comparisons with LED-equipped consumer drones and other ordinary objects. Claims that the sighting involved secret military technology remain unverified.
The video was reportedly recorded at about 7:30pm on 20 September near Tehran's Azadegan Expressway. It shows a curved formation of coloured lights appearing against the night sky, with the object apparently hovering or moving slowly.
