Nothing beats home-cooked food, especially if it's prepared by your mom - packed with love and aroma. Madhur Singh took to Twitter to appreciate eating 'ghar ka khana,' even when you are at the airport.
He posted a clip in which he can be seen enjoying Aalu parathe with nimbu ka achaar, along with his mom at the airport.
Talking about how expensive food is at the airport, he tweeted, "Travelling in flights have become easier for middle class but the societal pressure of buying ₹400 worth dosa and ₹100 worth water bottle is still too damn high."
"My mom packed Aalu parathe for our journey to Goa and we ate them at the airport, with nimbu ka achaar," he added.
Singh shared that he does not want to succumb to societal pressure to spend his money on expensive food, to spare being judged by those who see him eating from a lunch box.
He added, "Some people looked at us, oddly, but hey, they don’t matter and we don’t care. Jitni pocket allow kare utna kharcho. Jo taste pasand ho wo khaao. Society to pata nahi kya kya sochti hai. Sochne do. Tum mast apni life apne style se jiyo."
Several social media users appreciated his move and found it quite relatable.
"My two cents: even when money is not a constraint, why would anyone feel like eating anything off the shelf when they’re lucky to have mum ke haath ka kuch bhi. The idea of happiness sold by capitalism is shallow and many people would envy what you have. God bless," a Twitter user wrote.
Another added, "Best thing travelling with mothers is they plan of our food as well. And it's ok to have your home food at the airport, but find the dine area (food court) and have food is better. Enjoy."
Another Twitter user shared a similar experience with a funny twist in the comments section.
"I was coming back from my mother’s house & was eating my packed food at Delhi Airport & had this one lady, look at me and mutter ‘harkatein train wali hain’ so I asked her if she wanted some too coz in trains we share food with our co-passengers. She walked off in a huff," the user wrote.
