A violent partner had his girlfriend's name on his phone stored under an obscene name. Andrew Dove referred to her by the term "piece of ****" on his handset.
Dove, 30, of Stoneyford Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (May 5) for harassment, causing criminal damage, and two offences of assault by beating to her, charges he admitted to. One assault involved him grabbing her around the throat and squeezing, causing reddening around her neck on February 28 this year.
He assaulted her again on March 5, after he pushed her into a door frame, and smashed cups and plates on a draining board at her home. The harassment followed, with Dove sending her numerous unwanted text messages, including unpleasant language, and making threats towards her in relation to their children and her property.
