During free agency, the Minnesota Vikings made it a point to address the front seven on defense. Between the signings of edge rusher Marcus Davenport and defensive lineman Dean Lowry, the Vikings have set themselves up to avoid the position in the NFL Draft, if needed.
However, CBS Sports’ Will Brinson has the Vikings selecting Georgia Tech edge rusher Keion White in his first mock draft.
Defense has to be a priority in this draft for the Vikings and adding some youth up front would make a ton of sense. A CB would be fine here too.
White would be an intriguing fit in Brian Flores’ defense. He has the size profile to play in different positions, which Flores values from his defensive linemen. White shined at the Senior Bowl, which likely boosted his draft stock, meaning this pick would not be a reach.
However, an edge rusher isn’t the Vikings’ pressing need. While they could select one and, as Brinson explained, get younger at the position, the Vikings would be better served drafting a wide receiver or cornerback to help sure up those positions.
