In a recently released vlog on his YouTube channel, former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya called his upcoming rematch vs. Alex Pereira his “last shot“.
During Saturday’s UFC 287 main event in Miami, Adesanya (23-2 MMA, 12-2 UFC) will look to avenge an MMA loss (and in a way, two prior kickboxing losses) to his soon-to-be four-time competitive rival, Pereira (7-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC). The bout is an immediate rematch of November’s UFC 281 main event, when Pereira finished Adesanya by fifth-round stoppage due to strikes.
“I like it because it puts it all on me, and it’s kind of poetic in a way,” Adesanya said. “One life: Roll the dice. This is my last shot, and I’m going to give it all I’ve got in every sense of the word.”
Adesanya’s quote left room for interpretation.
What did he mean? Is he accurate in his assessment? What’s truly at stake here?
Those questions were asked to this week’s “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Dan Tom, along with host Farah Hannoun. Check out their analysis in the video above, and don’t miss this week’s full episode below.
