At this point, Jake Paul is no stranger to facing former MMA champions in the boxing ring, but his next challenge is his toughest yet.
With knockout wins over Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, Paul is set to test his skills against MMA legend and former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva on Oct. 29.
What makes this matchup unique for Paul is that it will be his first opponent with pro boxing experience. Not to mention, as far as his MMA opponents in the boxing ring, Silva will serve as the first true striker as well.
With two pre-fight press conferences already complete, we have had the opportunity to see Paul and Silva interact and size each other up in staredowns. While the build has been respectful, Paul has stated he intends to knock out Silva. On the other side, like he has throughout his career, Silva is not making any predictions other than promising to bring his best to what he considers a “good challenge.”
This leads to the ultimate question as a combat sports fan: Are you in or out on this matchup between MMA legend and YouTuber turned boxer?
MMA Junkie’s “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Nolan King discussed the topic with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia. You can watch their conversation in the video above, or check out this week’s full episode below.
