Fringe Socceroos midfielder Denis Genreau has joined Melbourne Victory on a three-year deal as he attempts to kickstart his career ahead of next year's World Cup.

Genreau, 26, broke through at Melbourne City, then kicked on at Macarthur FC before heading to France.
