Victoria Centre remains open to customers, a spokesman has confirmed, despite a major ongoing police incident in Nottingham city centre. At least six roads are closed and huge police cordons are in place due to the incident.
Ilkeston Road in Radford, Magdala Road, near Mapperley Park, Maples Street, Hyson Green, and Woodborough Road - from the junction of Magdala Road heading into the city - and Maid Marian Way at the junction of Parliament Street are all closed.
A spokesman for Victoria Centre said: “We are monitoring the ongoing situation in Nottingham city centre carefully and are continuing to liaise with Nottinghamshire Police.
“The centre does remain open, with some pedestrian and car park entrances affected by the Police cordon. However, we are urging people to follow the advice of Nottinghamshire Police and to avoid the parts of the city centre that have been impacted.”
