Gardai were questioning a suspect last night after a man was stabbed to death in a homeless hostel.
The victim, named by sources as Jamie Kavanagh, was attacked repeatedly during a row at the facility in south inner city Dublin. Sources say the 24-year-old was originally from South Co Dublin, and was living in the hostel on Harrington Street, which houses homeless men.
The man who was arrested is understood to be aged 41 and from the Blanchardstown area of west Dublin. Sources say he has several criminal convictions. Gardai were called to the hostel at 4.45am and discovered Mr Kavanagh seriously injured.
