MUMBAI: The Lucknow resident arrested on July 25 for sending threats to Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal and his actor-wife Katrina Kaif for four months, was granted bail on August 1.
Manvender Singh (28) was tracked down from a hotel in Santacruz (W), where he was staying for few months and posted threats and videos to Kaushal and stalked Katrina. He even posted on Instagram that her sister Isabelle had married Kaushal on December 9, 2021, while he married Katrina on December 13.
Police wrote to the social media platform to pull down Singh's Instagram account in which he posted morphed photographs with the actor's wife and threat videos. Police are searching for the person who helped the suspect. Singh was sent to judicial custody after completing police custody on July 28. He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act.
Singh's lawyer Sandeep D Sherkane claimed that he was falsely implicated in the case.
