Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is highlighting her pivotal role in advancing pro-labor policies within the Biden administration, positioning it as the most labor-friendly administration in history. The campaign is gearing up for a series of events across the country showcasing support from various labor groups, culminating in a joint appearance by President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris in Pittsburgh.

Key achievements being touted by the campaign include Harris casting the deciding vote to move forward the 2021 Covid stimulus package and passing the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. Her longstanding support for unions, demonstrated during her tenure as a senator and California’s attorney general, is also being emphasized ahead of her upcoming engagements in Detroit and Pittsburgh.

One of the central promises reiterated by the Harris campaign is her commitment to signing the Protecting the Right to Organize Act, a bill aimed at bolstering workers’ rights to engage in collective bargaining for improved wages and benefits.

The campaign is drawing a sharp contrast with former President Donald Trump’s track record, labeling him as one of the most anti-worker and anti-union presidents in history. By referencing proposals from the conservative policy document Project 2025, the campaign warns of potential detrimental impacts on workers under a hypothetical second Trump administration.

Union leaders set to join Harris in Michigan include figures from prominent organizations such as the American Federation of Teachers, National Education Association, and United Auto Workers. The campaign underscores the broad support it has garnered from unions nationwide, citing concerns over the potential consequences of a return to Trump-era policies.

Notable unions represented at the upcoming events in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin include the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers and the Service Employees International Union, among others.
