Vice President Harris Launches Ad Warning Of Second Trump Administration

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is set to release a new ad focusing on Project 2025, a policy blueprint associated with conservative allies of former President Donald Trump. The ad aims to caution against the potential outcomes of a second Trump administration and is scheduled to run leading up to the September 10 presidential debate.

The ad, part of the campaign’s existing $370 million advertising commitment, echoes the Democratic perspective on Project 2025, which was developed by the Heritage Foundation. Democrats characterize the plan as a “922-page blueprint to make Donald Trump the most powerful president ever.”

The ad highlights various aspects of Project 2025, such as proposed changes to the Department of Justice, potential impacts on education with the elimination of the Department of Education and funding cuts to K-12 schools, as well as measures related to monitoring women’s pregnancies and reductions in Medicare and Social Security.

The narrator in the ad asserts, “Donald Trump may try to deny it, but those are Donald Trump’s plans,” emphasizing the perceived implications of the policy blueprint.

Democrats have been actively framing Project 2025 as a preview of a potential second Trump administration, with Vice President Harris frequently referencing the document in her campaign speeches. During her acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, Harris pointed to Project 2025 as evidence of what a second Trump term could entail, suggesting that it would regress the country to the past.

On the other hand, Trump and his campaign have consistently denied direct connections to the conservative groups linked to Project 2025. However, a review revealed that approximately 140 individuals who served in the Trump administration were involved in the development of the policy blueprint.
