Vice President Kamala Harris recently addressed Ohio Senator JD Vance's speech at the Republican National Convention, calling it 'compelling' but 'not the full story.' During a rally in North Carolina, Harris highlighted what she believed Vance had omitted from his speech, particularly focusing on the absence of discussion about Project 2025, a 900-page blueprint for a potential second term under former President Donald Trump.
Harris expressed concern over the perceived extremity of the plans outlined in Project 2025, suggesting that Vance's silence on the matter was telling. She also criticized Vance and the Republican Party on various issues, including their stance on abortion, the economy, and their calls for unity following recent events.
Regarding the Republican Party's unity message, Harris emphasized the need for actions to match the rhetoric. She pointed out that true unity cannot be claimed if efforts are made to overturn a free and fair election or threaten the US Constitution.
Project 2025, created by the conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation, serves as a policy blueprint for potential future Republican presidents. While Trump has distanced himself from the document, a review revealed that approximately 140 individuals from his administration were involved in its development.
