Charlie Bird paid tribute to Focus Ireland founder Sister Stanislaus Kennedy at the launch of her new book, Finding Hope.
The former RTE veteran presenter is battling Motor Neurone Disease and made the trip into Dublin city to support Sr Stan.
Sr Stan dedicated the book to Charlie “for his inspiration, positivity, and courage in facing and living with motor neurone disease.”
In his contribution to the book, Charlie writes that it is friendship that now gives him hope.
He said: “I have made one promise to myself now, while I am still on this earth, that I will continue to extend the hand of friendship to everyone.”
Other contributors to the book include the Dalai Lama, Adi Roche, several high-profile politicians and members of media and society.
Finding Hope (€19.99) by Sr Stanislaus Kennedy is published by Columba Books in January 2023 and is available in all good bookshops and online www.columbabooks.com.
The proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Sanctuary, in particular the development of programmes for those who care for the most vulnerable in our society.
