A Vermont man has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of negligent driving with death resulting in the tragic June crash that claimed the life of actor Treat Williams. The defendant, who knew Williams personally, received a one-year deferred sentence and will have his driving license revoked for a year as part of his probation. Additionally, he is required to complete a community restorative justice program for the misdemeanor charge.
The incident occurred when the defendant, driving a Honda SUV, attempted to turn left into a parking lot on June 12 and collided with Williams, who was riding a motorcycle. Despite wearing a helmet, Williams sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a medical center where he was pronounced dead.
