A vegetarian girlfriend claims she was 'traumatised' after cooking a sausage for her meat-eating fella only to discover it looked uncannily 'like a pig' - complete with 'snout and ears'. Chrissie Anker decided to treat her boyfriend Joe Williams, 25, and their daughter to a rare treat of pork sausage and chips, as the family usually ate a meat-free diet most days.
The 21-year-old mum put the bangers into the oven but as she watched them sizzling on the tray, she was 'disgusted' to discover one looked like it had formed little ears. The senior support officer claims she then took the meat out of the cooker and was stunned spot what looked like a snout as well - leaving her cringing at the 'horrible but funny' sight.
Chrissie, from Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, said: "I usually cook vegetarian food for him and our daughter every night. I thought I'd give him something different because I felt bad, it's a rare treat in our house.
"I noticed what looked like ears. I was telling Joe then when I opened the door, it looked like it had a snout as well.
"I was so disgusted, I thought it was horrible. I took a picture of it to show my family because I thought it was funny, but I had to delete it straight away because it was so horrible."
Chrissie, who's been vegetarian for four years, couldn't help but laugh at the piggy-shaped sausage - admitting she was surprised when Joe still ate it.
Chrissie said: "It's not something I expected. I decided to give him some meat and when I looked in the oven while they were cooking, it looked like a pig. When I'm cooking meat, I usually get quite stressed that it's not going to be cooked properly so I check on it a lot.
"I'd always wanted to be vegetarian. I just really like animals and I've not really ever been that bothered about meat. Joe thought it was really funny as well. I asked him if he was going to still eat it because it looked like an actual pig - he still did."
After sharing the unusual find on social media, Chrissie said some meat-eaters even commented that it had put them off eating sausages in the future.
Chrissie said: "I just thought it was quite funny so I just posted it, but I wasn't expecting so many people to see it. Loads of people were saying it's really gross and others said they were meat-eaters but this made them not want to eat sausages again."
