Vedika misses gold by a whisker, becomes only Nagpur player to win silver in national schools chess

NAGPUR: Top seed Vedika Pal suffered a defeat at the halfway mark of the national U-11 girls schools chess championship and missed the gold medal on tie-break in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

Despite the fifth-round loss, the 10-year-old fought her way back and became the only city master to record a podium finish with a silver medal in the national championships played in six different age categories.
