An exasperated Carl Veart is refusing to rule out changes to his Adelaide United side after accusing his players of lacking desperation in their last-gasp defeat to Macarthur.
Veart's men looked to be heading for an A-League Men victory on Monday after twice falling behind in the first half to take a 3-2 lead into the final 10 minutes in Campbelltown.
But the Reds boss was left incensed after his men conspired to let the Bulls grab two late goals and snatch the three points in a 4-3 thriller.
And Veart, whose side haven't kept a clean sheet in four games, said he needed his players to rapidly snap out of their slumber ahead of Sunday's home clash with the Brisbane Roar.
"We were good for five minute spells and very poor for large periods," Veart said.
"It's a focus, it's a concentration and it's a desperation... the Macarthur players were more desperate and they were hungrier to win.
"We'll have to sit back and reflect on this, we don't want to jump too much.
"I'm disappointed and the players are as well because what they showed tonight, that's not who they are."
Veart was highly critical of his side's defensive organisation.
Two of Macarthur's four goals came from Adelaide's failure to clear balls into the box, while another came when the Reds' defence fell asleep at a set piece.
But the Adelaide manager, who hooked veteran Spanish import Isais at halftime, reserved his fiercest criticism for how his side failed to stamp their authority on the game and played into Macarthur's hands.
The Reds boss argued his side's performance was, in parts, worse than that displayed in last month's 5-1 hammering at the hands of Sydney FC.
"We spoke about how we want to play we just didn't execute it tonight," Veart said.
"We didn't move the ball quickly enough.
"We didn't play with any tempo and you know when you play against Macarthur they want all the tempo taken out of the game.
"We just allowed them to control the main parts of the game."
