VC’s remark on deeptech sets off a debate on where India’s capital should go

A comment from Anmol Maini, general partner at early-stage venture capital firm Untitled Ventures, has stirred up a debate online, where he said most deeptech will turn out 'to be a grift'.

“In a decade we will realize most of the deeptech is a grift,” Maini wrote, adding that quick services and quick commerce companies will do more to drive the economy. The remark, a reply to a post by AI startup Neosapien CEO Dhananjay Yadav, drew heavy reactions on X.
