Mick McGraa’s Vauxhall Motors were held to a 1-1 draw away at Barnoldswick Town, as numerous second half chances failed to be converted, following a poorly defended free-kick.
The Motormen started the game at the Silentnight stadium positively, creating a great attack within the first thirty seconds as a ball from Sean Moscrop flashed across the face of goal.
McGraa’s men continued to attack the hosts and Lewis Buckley’s shot was blocked by a defender.
A great ball from Ben Holmes to Michael Burkey forced a good save from keeper Jordan Gidley in the late stages of the half which ended goalless.
Motors wouldn’t have to wait too long for the opener as Buckley netted within the first three minutes of the second 45, with a reverse shot skimming across the grass and into the bottom corner of the opposition goal.
At the other end, Town were close to finding the equaliser when James McClenaghan denied a tap in at the back post.
But Town's goal eventually came with just under twenty minutes left on the clock, a free-kick was hit powerfully from the halfway line before sailing over James McClenaghan and into the back of The Motors net.
Two massive chances at the death failed to be netted for the visitors as both were fired narrowly over, painfully for the side who had created many good chances throughout the game.
