Vanessa Lachey, known for her role in NCIS: Hawaii, recently revealed in an interview with PEOPLE that she has made the decision to keep her three children - sons Camden and Phoenix, and daughter Brooklyn - off social media. The actress shared that she had previously agreed with her children's school not to allow them to have phones until sixth grade, a pact she still believes in despite having moved to Hawaii.
Vanessa explained that her family's lifestyle doesn't necessitate her kids having phones at this point, as they primarily move between home and school. She emphasized that she respects differing parenting choices and acknowledges that some children may require phones for communication purposes.
Regarding her children watching her and her husband, Nick Lachey, on television, Vanessa mentioned that they don't typically watch their shows. However, she noted that her kids have seen her on NCIS: Hawaii and even interacted with the makeup effects to understand that it's all make-believe.
While her children have seen some of Nick's performances on The Masked Singer, Vanessa shared that they have yet to watch Love Is Blind, the reality show she and Nick co-host on Netflix. She highlighted the importance of keeping her children grounded and prioritizing their roles as parents above their public personas.
Vanessa expressed gratitude that her children view her and Nick primarily as their mom and dad, emphasizing that maintaining this perspective is crucial in their parenting approach. She also mentioned that her children's peers at school discuss the show Love Is Blind, adding another layer to their parenting experience.
