Vanessa Hudgens has criticised the publication of pictures revealing the birth of her first child, saying her family’s privacy has been violated.
The High School Musical actress, 35, took to Instagram Stories on Thursday to make her feelings clear, writing: “We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media.”
She added: “Despite all of that, mom, dad and baby are healthy and happy”.
Various news outlets published photos of the star leaving the hospital with her husband Cole Tucker, 28, and the newborn infant on July 3.
Hudgens first announced that she was pregnant when she debuted her baby bump on the red carpet of the Oscars back in March.
While it is believed she hosted a gender reveal party, she has yet to confirm publicly if her baby is a boy or a girl.
She and Tucker first got together in 2021 after meeting in a Zoom meditation session during the Covid-19 pandemic.
They got engaged two years later in February 2023 and tied the knot that December in a lavish ceremony in Tulum, Mexico.
Reflecting on their big day, she told Vogue that seeing Tucker at the altar was “the most emotional moment of my life.
“I literally keeled over when I saw Cole and had to take a big breath and had to force myself to keep walking because I could have dropped to the floor.”
She added to the outlet that the vows they exchanged were the “most beautiful thing ever”.
