Vanessa Feltz 'nervous' ahead of her first date in 17 years after shock split from Ben Ofoedu

TV presenter Vanessa Feltz has been on her first date in 17 years as she heads out for her first match as part of Celebs Go Dating.

The star split from her former partner Ben Ofoedu after 17 years earlier this year after discovering he was unfaithful, but now she's back and ready to find romance.

Vanessa, who is a regular guest on ITV's This Morning and has her own radio show, is part of the cast of E4's Celebs Go Dating as she turns to the experts to help her find love.

Now the 61-year-old TalkTV star has told Instagram fans about her mixed feelings as she headed out on her first date in nearly two decades as part of the celebrity dating show.

Speaking to her Instagram followers as she wore a huge pair of oversized white sunglasses, Vanessa said: "OMG going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating.

"I haven't been on a date for 17 years, so just imagine how I'm feeling.

"I can't even find the words to describe it, and I'm good at words."

Vanessa also gave her fans a sneak peek at her possible date venue as she shared a selfie of herself in a very fancy hotel lounge or bar.

However that's all the usually outspoken star would reveal about the date, leaving her followers in suspense over whether the date was love at first sight or a dud.

Vanessa joins a host of other celebrities for Celebs Go Dating including OnlyFans star Lottie Moss, Love Island's Chloe Burrows and Adam Collard, comedian Spuddz and and Made In Chelsea's Mark-Francis Vandelli.

Show bosses were reportedly keen to secure Vanessa for this series after she became single following the shock split from Ben in February.

A TV Insider told The Sun last month: "When Vanessa was first approached to do the show, she wasn’t 100 per cent sure as the break-up was very fresh and she didn’t want to rush into anything.

“Now she has had time to think about it and she’s decided to give it a whirl.

"Her relationship coming to a devastating, unexpected end after 16 years has made her realise that life is short and you have to grab opportunities when they come your way."

The source also told the publication that Vanessa isn't necessarily looking for her soulmate but is "keeping an open mind" to see what happens as she "wants to have fun, live life and try new things" following her shocking split.
