Ben Ofoedu has broken his silence on the real reason why he and Vanessa Feltz split at the beginning of the year following alleged cheating claims. The Phats & Small singer opened up in his first TV interview since the break-up, saying he wanted to set the record straight and saying he wants the broadcaster back.
Speaking to GB News presenter Mark Dolan, Ben said: "We were in love for 17 years, so yeah I would love to be back in that situation because I love her so much."
Speaking about their split, Ben said he'd had an affair before back in 2015 and they had "got over it." He admitted that their relationship ended this year after he was "sex texting."

He said: "The whole thing about me having numerous amounts of affairs, and going to holiday camps and sleeping with these different women, and that I'd had several affairs is just not true. And it's horrible, I've been getting trolled by practically what seemed like the whole of Great Britain for the last three to four weeks and probably a couple of months, and it's been really, really tough."
He added: "I've been completely honest about it. I think it's important to kind of own up and say, 'Look, I was wrong', and stuff like that."
Ben, 50, continued: "It's just this really, really stupid mistake. I don't even know, I mean there are different reasons but it was a stupid mistake. I don't think I've been harshly treated by Vanessa, because I brought this to her doorstep and the family that I love so much."
Asked if he would like them to reunite he said: "We were in love for 17 years, so yeah I would love to be back in that situation because I love her so much. But there are a few things I would like to change, but that would be between me and her to work out but yeah, I would love to be back in that situation."
And he added: "I just want to set the record straight, it's not several women. I'm not a serial cheater. I don't go to holiday camps and just cheat. That's not the truth, but I think it kind of made a great narrative that the love rat, the love cheat.”
Speaking out on Sunday, February 5 Vanessa told her followers that she was "shocked" and "incredibly sad" as she addressed the split. In a frank video message she said the trust had gone in their relationship.
The following day Ben, who shot to fame as one half of the dance duo Phats &Small in 1998 with the massive hit Turn Around, shared a picture of a broken heart emoji on his Instagram Stories. Addressing the split Vanessa told her followers: "Well, I haven’t been on Instagram for three weeks and that’s because my relationship with Ben is over after 16 years and I honestly didn’t know what to say to you on Instagram."
She continued: "But now it’s clear that it’s over, and I really do feel that once the trust in a relationship is gone you really can’t get it back, and that’s what I’d tell anyone else to do."
This weekend the This Morning agony aunt looked sensational as she showcased her new 'sophisticated' look. In a video shared on her Instagram Vanesssa opens the door to a visitor beaming a big smile in a burgundy red wrap dress.
"Ooh there's not a bit of pattern on that dress," says her visitor. And she replies: "I know! Is that a bad thing? I'm just trying to look sophisticated for a change."
TV presenter Lisa Snowdon commented: "You look sensational." Comedian Richard Franks told her: "Very sophisticated." And shelleyspadoni wrote with a flame emoji: "Gorgeous."
