Dogs Trust Ireland is appealing for a loving home for a special canine couple who mended each other's broken hearts in a kennel following neglect and abuse.
Both dogs were found in appalling conditions and it was feared they may not survive.
A two-year-old Beagle mix called Yara was discovered with serious injuries and had to undergo special surgery to save her life.

Evie, a four-year-old Spaniel mix was discovered with the skin condition mange and several infections. Both dogs were covered in parasites and suffering from hair loss and severe skin issues due to neglect.
After meeting in kennels, the pair struck up an immediate bond and their love for each other not only helped mend their broken hearts but set them firmly on the road to recovery.
Sandra Ruddell, Assistant Operations Manager at Dogs Trust Ireland said: "We are so grateful to their fosterers, as both girls have blossomed and fully healed. They are now friendly, well-behaved and energetic dogs and we can’t wait to find them their forever home together."
She said they would suit a family with children over 16 and would love a garden to play in.
The charity is appealing to people to consider sponsoring a dog for the special dog lover in their lives this Valentine's Day.
They outlined that there is a lot of time and attention required when taking on any dog, particularly one of their long term dogs, however, they believe it’s most definitely worth the unconditional love adopters will receive in return.
Dogs Trust considers dogs in their care as ‘UnderDogs’ if they have spent six months or more searching for their forever home.
