In a concerning turn of events, a group of Uyghur men who have been detained in Thailand for over a decade may have been deported to China. Reports emerged of trucks with covered windows leaving a detention center in Thailand, coinciding with China announcing the repatriation of Chinese citizens from the Southeast Asian country.
The deportation was reportedly scheduled for early Thursday morning, as confirmed by various sources who chose to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the information. Chinese state broadcaster CCTV later reported the repatriation of '40 Chinese illegal immigrants,' with a photo suggesting they were of Uyghur ethnicity.
