Uttar Pradesh: RSS likely to send an OBC as Sunil Bansal's replacement

LUCKNOW: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is learnt to be considering an OBC face for the post of general secretary (organisation) of UP BJP unit -- in a move that could potentially bolster the saffron family's strategy to consolidate the backward classes ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Top UP BJP sources affirmed that the incumbent state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal, who hails from the upper caste Vaishya community, in all likelihood, would be heading back to the RSS or may be given a responsibility in BJP's Central leadership as a Sangh affiliate.
