Uttar Pradesh: Police recover 2 girls who had run away from home to become singers in Bollywood

KANPUR: Two minor girls, who had run away from home with the dream of becoming a singer in Bollywood, were recovered by police on Friday.

The matter is of Gursahaiganj Kotwali of Kannauj. A local on Thursday evening lodged a complaint at the Kotwali that his 13-year-old daughter, who studies in class eight, has been missing from their home.

He said that his daughter used to chat with someone from her mobile phone.When police cross-checked the mobile, they found that the girl used to chat with her friend.

"When police traced the friend, she too was found to be missing from her house. When the mobile phones of both were put on surveillance, the two were searched for Mumbai bound trains," the police said.

When SP Kannauj Prashant Verma came to know about the issue, he immediately informed the GRP headquarters and shared the photographs of both the girls. On Friday, both the girls were found to be sitting in Lucknow Passenger at Kalyanpur station in Kanpur. "Later, a police team from Kannauj reached Kanpur and brought both the girls to their native district and handed them to their family members," the SP further said.
