Uttar Pradesh: Man accused of murder, loot killed in police encounter in Mathura

MATHURA: A man accused of murder and robbery, who had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, was killed in a police encounter, officials reported.

Sailesh Kumar Pandey, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Mathura, stated, "Farookh, a resident of Matiya Darwaza, sustained injuries in a police encounter near a hotel under the Highway police station on Saturday night. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead."

The police shared that on November 4, Farookh and an accomplice, Mohsin, attacked businessman Krishna Kumar Agarwal and his wife Kalpana Agarwal, committing robbery at their residence. Unfortunately, Kalpana Agarwal succumbed to her injuries, while her husband is currently in critical condition at a hospital.

Mohsin was apprehended by the police on November 10, and some cash was recovered from him. The officer mentioned, "We found a bag containing Rs 21.8 lakh, jewelry, and a pistol in Farookh's possession."
