Those bidding on the sale of Chelsea Football Club could find out as soon as this weekend whether they have made the shortlist in the race to complete the purchase.
According to the Evening Standard, Raine Group are set to narrow the process down to two or three parties at the weekend after Friday's deadline for bids. It was reported on Wednesday that those with previous experience in running a sports team will be given preference.
That means the likes of the Ricketts family (who own Major League Baseball side, the Chicago Clubs), Todd Boehly (part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers) and Robert "Woody" Johnson (the owner of the New York Jets) are likely to be handed an advantage over the likes of Nick Candy, who has no previous experience in that field.
